Vigil Seafood Co. is an Iceland-USA partnership that brings together three generations of seafood leadership, 75 years of Icelandic fishing heritage, and more than 60 years of American seafood expertise.
The company was co-founded by Jeff Davis Jr. and Guðjón M. Ólafsson, with Jeff Davis Sr. serving as senior advisor — a team whose combined experience spans every link in the global seafood supply chain, from vessel deck to retail shelf.
Together, the partners built Vigil Seafood on a simple principle: source the cleanest, most responsibly raised salmon in the world and deliver it with the reliability and transparency that buyers deserve. As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Vigil operates with the values that define its name — vigilance, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by customers, community, and planet.
Meet the Team
Jeff Davis Jr. — Co-Founder & CEO grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts, entering the United States Marine Corps after high school where he served a distinguished career. A Service-Disabled Veteran, he went on to earn his degree from The George Washington University School of Business and built a decade-long track record in global marketing, business development, and strategic acquisitions. At Vigil Seafood, he leads the company's vision, sales, and market development, bringing the same discipline, commitment, and mission focus that defined his years in uniform.
Guðjón M. Ólafsson — Co-Founder & CFO brings the Icelandic side of the partnership. A seasoned leader in Iceland's fish processing and technology sector, he has held senior roles including Managing Director of HV3 and operational leadership of SKAGINN 3X during its integration with BAADER, where he served as CFO and steered a successful financial turnaround. His deep roots in Iceland's fishing communities and his firsthand knowledge of Icelandic aquaculture make him the essential bridge between Strönd's production in the Westman Islands and the American market.
Jeff Davis Sr. — Senior Advisor has spent over four decades at the forefront of the American seafood industry. Born and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts, he built a career that took him from the processing floors of Gloucester to the executive suites of some of the industry's largest companies. He served as CEO of American Seafoods International, CEO of Baader North America, and founder of Blue Harvest Fisheries. He also served as Chairman of the National Fisheries Institute and sat on the boards of the Marine Stewardship Council and the New England Fisheries Development Foundation. Today he continues to advise the global seafood sector through ISEA Partners, the international seafood investment consultancy he founded.
